The original "Wallawaa" or Manor House exported spices to the world from the port of Galle. The Villa and Gatehouse were redesigned to maximise the use of light, natural ventilation and capture the history of the jungle and the expansive views over the paddy fields. Brilliant colours light up the spice filled gardens and water recycling system, creating an ecosystem for local wildlife and birds. High flying eagles and peacocks, tiny finches and honeyeaters, woodpeckers and frogs, generate the song of the jungle. Every nook and chill out area is unique in its design and purpose.
